Godzilla (ゴジラ?, Gojira) is a Gojiran and protector of Earth, used by IFIE. He has often christened the role of the 'main' gojiran inhabiting the planet, even though there are in fact several gojirans living on the planet. It appears he is among the most prominent.

Appearance[]

Godzilla may represent the quintessential Gojiran, a large saurian kaiju with prominent dorsal spines and a long, powerful tail. Godzilla has gone through many changes in appearance over the years due to his unstable mutations. He currently resembles how he appeared in 1989 (and by extension, his PS4 incarnation ), combined with bits and pieces of the new appearance of Neo Godzilla I, and lastly, with elements of his appearance back in 1955 thrown in, which likely resulted in his prominent brow. In short, he is a combination of the new and the old. He's grown a few meters since his revival, and he has quite a few scars on him as he's still healing from his initial meltdown. He frequently switches from an animalistic stance to a complete standing stance depending on how he needs to fight.

Biography[]

Events of Godzilla Raids Again[]

A different individual from the first Gojiran that had surfaced in 1954, Godzilla was first spotted battling another, unknown monster, dubbed Anguirus, on Iwato Island in 1955. The two monsters had been awakened from their deep slumber due to nuclear testing. The two monsters eventually fell into the ocean, only for Godzilla to surface at Osaka. While the JSDF successfully lures him away with flares, a fire starts that puts attention back on Osaka, and also attracts Anguirus. The two monsters destroy the city in their battle, and Godzilla eventually comes out as the victor, biting down on Anguirus' neck and blasting him into the waters below, where he isn't seen again for a long time. Godzilla was eventually trapped in ice by a plan enacted by the JSDF, where he wouldn't be seen for the next 7 years.

Events of Godzilla Vs. Kong[]

Due to the rising temperature in the ocean currents, the iceberg containing Godzilla begins to thaw, and he breaks out, heading for Japan. Meanwhile, another monster named King Kong has vanquished his latest foe, a giant octopus, and in the midst of celebrating with the natives on the island, he lives on, falls asleep. He's taken to Japan, but on the way there, wakes up, and frees himself. Godzilla has reached Japan and finally meets Kong in the Nasu Highlands. Kong mistakes Godzilla for a member of his species he fought in 1933, and promptly attacks, but Godzilla gains the upper hand and forces Kong to retreat. They eventually have a rematch on Mount Fuji, where Godzilla defeats Kong. Kong is revived by a passing thunderstorm however and is given his electric powers, which he uses to subdue Godzilla and tackle him into the sea below. Only Kong resurfaces, and Godzilla would not be seen for another 2 years.

Events of Mothra Vs. Godzilla[]

Godzilla, suddenly and inexplicably, first appears rising out of a Nagoya beach in 1964, where he begins going on the rampage. A group of humans travels to a remote island to ask its natives if they could have assistance fighting Godzilla, and after a lengthy discussion, an insectoid monster called Mothra is summoned, although she is old and feeble. Meanwhile, Godzilla had found the egg Mothra had laid, but just before he was about to destroy it, Mothra herself shows up and battles him. Mothra appears to have the upper hand until Godzilla fires an atomic blast at one of her wings, sending her hurtling towards the ground and knocking the last bit of life she had out of her. Just as Godzilla leaves, the egg hatches into twin Mothra Larvae, who follow Godzilla and encase him in a cocoon of silk before plunging him into the ocean, seemingly gone for now.

Events of Ghidorah, The Three-Headed Monster[]

Godzilla appears once again in the same year, rising out of the ocean to cause havoc. However, another monster called Rodan has been hibernating within a volcano and had awoken when a meteor struck where he had been sleeping. Once Godzilla and Rodan encounter one another at Mount Fuji, a fierce battle ensues. While Rodan and Godzilla continue their battle, the meteor that had crashed into earth and awoken Rodan splits open, and out comes a monster called King Ghidorah. King Ghidorah is an alien kaiju who is known to destroy planets and had previously destroyed the civilization of Venus, and he now plans to do the same to Earth. As King Ghidorah flies over Japan causing devastation, another group of humans asks the twin fairies of Mothra, the Shobijin, the same fairies who had previously summoned Mothra to fight against Godzilla, if they could once again summon Mothra to battle Ghidorah. The Shobijin warn them that Mothra is still a larva and can't hope to defeat Ghidorah on her own. Mothra comes to Godzilla and Rodan during their fight and asks for their help, but they stubbornly refuse and continue their fight. After Mothra is brutally attacked by King Ghidorah, the two monsters put aside their differences, and all three monsters successfully drive Ghidorah away from the planet. Godzilla leaves to rest underwater.

Events of Invasion of The Astro Monster[]

While Godzilla was resting beneath the waters, he finds himself being lifted up from them, being taken into space. As it turns out, the leader of an alien race known as the Xiliens requested they 'borrow' Godzilla and Rodan to help fend off against a monster called Monster Zero. Once Godzilla arrives on their home planet, Planet X, Monster Zero is revealed to be none other than King Ghidorah. The two kaiju are successful in driving off the alien monster but are left on the planet. The Xiliens, who'd promised Earth a miracle drug in exchange for helping them, instead betray them and threaten to invade earth using Godzilla, Rodan, and King Ghidorah if their demands are not met. Unfortunately, the invasion is started early, and Godzilla and Rodan rampage throughout Japan before the Xiliens' control over them is severed by the humans broadcasting a sound that they are weak to. Godzilla teams up with Rodan to battle King Ghidorah, with all three monsters tumbling into the sea. Ghidorah emerges and flies off, retreating into space once more, while Godzilla remains underwater.

Personality[]

Godzilla's personality has changed quite a lot over the many years he was active before his death in 1995. During his early days, he appeared to be nothing more than a rampaging monster, attacking anything he came across, up to and including other monsters, such as the first generation Anguirus, and later kaiju like Kong and Mothra as well. It wasn't until the middle of the 'Showa Era' that he started to gain more heroic traits. It's very likely his newfound friendship with Anguirus is what sparked this change, and its during this era that he'd made many of the allies that still stand by him to this day, helped by the fact he'd been living on Monster Island, away from any cities to crush. He'd become a true Earth Defender.

During his hibernation, which started in 1975 after the events of the rematch between him and his alien robotic doppelganger, Godzilla was awakened in 1984, and he'd come to mutate even further, resulting in his appearance changing once again. These mutations caused him great pain this time around and put him in a heightened state of aggression, and he'd proceed to step back into what he was like in his early days; a large, aggressive monster that attacks civilizations. Even still, he'd go on to raise a son, which gradually began to return him back to an anti-heroic personality, with the turning point being when he faced SpaceGodzilla in battle. That moment was when he would have become an Earth Defender again, but this was sadly short-lived, as a year later, Godzilla was dead.

After spending over 25 years regenerating his flesh and organs, and anything else that had been damaged in the meltdown, Godzilla finally resurfaced in the present day. Here, his personality has been altered and appears to be a mix of his violent and heroic days, due in part to finally being able to see his allies again (many of which weren't around during the 'heisei' portion of his life), and especially being able to see his son. He's more interested in healing the rest of his wounds than he is destroying cities, at least for the time being, and wishes to be left alone for the most part.

Relationships[]

His Son[]

Godzilla cares very much for his son and was happy to see him again after he'd come back from healing after his initial meltdown. He doesn't tolerate any ill-will towards him, and though he may have trouble keeping his aggressive tendencies in check around him, he never wants to see him back down, even if it means having to come into conflict with his own father.

Anguirus[]

Anguirus was Godzilla's very first ally. In contrast to how he fought in a brutal battle against the first generation Anguirus, the second generation Anguirus would go on to become a close ally and eventually his best friend. After all, he was the one who quickly noticed that Fake Godzilla was actually a robot trying to impersonate the real, more heroic (at the time) Godzilla.

Fire Rodan[]

Fire Rodan was the original founder and protector of the egg Junior was inside of, and Godzilla ended up fighting him when his protective instincts kicked in. The two were enemies until MechaGodzilla II impaled the second brain in his hip, which paralyzed him. Fire Rodan, knowing he was about to die soon and thus render Junior fatherless, gave his power to help Godzilla regenerate in time. This was where he obtained the 'Spiral Ray' ability. Nowadays, the two are allies, even if it is a bit shaky.

Mosurans[]

Godzilla has met a few Mosurans throughout his lifetime, with some may or may not be the same individual reincarnated. His first encounter with one was in 1964, where he battled one and killed her and was later defeated by her children. However, he would later go on to make allies with one of the children in order to defeat a menace known as King Ghidorah. He would then live peacefully with monsters like her up until he was woken up in 1984.

The second time he's encountered a Mosuran was n 1992, where he was on the rampage due to being woken up yet again by a meteor, and fought with her, not recognizing the alliance he once shared with those of her kind due to his aggressive state. He was also confronted by a new creature called Battra.

In the present day, he's largely unconcerned about Mosurans, now seeing them as potential allies if he ever needs a hand in a fight.

Forms/Abilities[]

<tabber>Base Form=

  • Great strength, able to lift things 2.5x his size and weight.
  • Very durable, to the point of being able to survive a black hole.
  • Able to swim at the speed of 40 knots.
  • Atomic breath, a beam of blue atomic energy shot from the mouth.
    • Hyper Spiral Ray, a red, upgraded spiraling version of this attack, but only comes out during intense moments or when he has been powered up.
  • Nuclear Pulse, a pulse of blue atomic energy that knocks enemy monsters back and does good damage.
  • Sixth Sense, which allows him to find threats to the Earth.

|-|Burning Godzilla = This "Burning" form is the result of Godzilla feeding off of too much radiation. It is equal in power to the "Super Godzilla" form, if not more so, but it comes with the cost of Godzilla's inevitable meltdown, which has the potential to wipe out all life on earth if not contained. Godzilla will die either way.

  • Godzilla gains a bulkier build, becoming more durable. This unfortunately means he's also slower than usual.
  • His Hyper Spiral Ray becomes his standard atomic beam, allowing him to unleash massive damage.
  • His Nuclear Pulse has a wider range, now tinted red.
  • His strength triples, allowing him to obliterate small islands with his mere presence.

|-|Super Godzilla = This form is the positive outcome of Godzilla feeding off of too much radiation, allowing him to attain a temporary upgrade in the form of "Super Godzilla". Godzilla can only keep this form for less than an hour before reverting back to normal, and will not be able to reattain it until he's regained the energy required, which means he cannot use the form at will.

  • Godzilla gains a bulkier build, allowing him to ram into his foes at high speed, creating a small explosion upon impact.
  • The Nova Breath becomes Godzilla's new standard beam attack. It's possibly more powerful than the Hyper Spiral Ray.
  • Godzilla can coat his fists in nuclear energy, allowing him to unleash a Super Punch that sends the King of the Monsters flying forward, punching his enemy at a high power and speed.
  • Super Godzilla's tail can fire energy balls.
  • The Atomic Navel Blast is Super Godzilla's most powerful attack. It takes time to charge, but when it fires it unleashes a massive beam of light from Super Godzilla's torso cavity. If the attack is firing from a distance, it will slowly form a Gojiran-shaped head at the tip of the beam, increasing the power.
